Reactions to the decision of the Egyptian Football Association to postpone the Premier League to the last week of November will be mixed, with the postponed match of the fourth round between Al Ahly and Zamalek taking place at the end of the first round.

The federation issued an official statement justifying its decisions in order to regularize the league competition, and resolve the crisis refusal of the reigning champions Ahli to play any game in the competition before the face of Zamalek, which was scheduled for Saturday evening, and was postponed for security reasons.

The statement said that the concerted efforts to make the success of the African Nations Under-23 Championship qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics, which is hosted by Egypt, should postpone the games of the fifth and sixth rounds of the Premier League until the end of the tournament.

The federation confirmed that the league will resume after the end of the African championship in the same order of the competition table, with the exception of the summit of Ahli and Zamalek, which will be held at the end of the first round on the instructions of security.

The federation's decision came hours after Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi visited Ahli President Mahmoud al-Khatib at his home in an attempt to dissuade him from deciding not to play a league game until after the postponed summit match. The defending champion refused to face El Gouna, which was scheduled for Wednesday.

It seems that the FA has overcome the crisis of Al-Ahly's refusal to face El Gouna, but did not fulfill its request not to play any game before the performance of the summit, which prompted Zamalek president Mortada Mansour to welcome the decisions of the Union and stressing that he adheres to them.

Speaking to local newspapers, Mansour expressed gloat at Ahli's president, saying Khatib had refused to play one game against El Gouna before the summit, and now he would play 14 games before.

"After what we were the strongest league in the Arab and African region .. Now you do not know do not return an audience and do not specify the stadiums for teams and not even a regular schedule .. Egyptian league, the spirit of fragmentation rest in peace."
