ELMUNDO journalist Javier Martínez was awarded in the Communication section in the VI edition of the María de Villota Awards and the VIII of the Racket City Awards.

The Spanish basketball team, recent world champion, skater Javier Fenández and swimmer Ona Carbonell stand out among the winners in a contest that this year includes a special recognition to the Fernández Ochoa family, to remember Paco and his deceased Blanca sister last September.

Other winners are the marcher Jesús García Bragado, who at 50 achieved his qualification for the Tokyo Games in the Doha World Cup, and the tennis player Manuel Orantes, for his professional career, in which he achieved 33 titles, including the 1975 United States Open and the 1976 Masters.

The delivery ceremony will be held on December 2 in the City of Racket.
