Luleå-back Fredrik Styrman started the season by scoring two goals in the seven opening matches.

But then it stopped because of an injury in the meeting against Rögle in early October.

Early in the match, the officer received an elbow in the face from 18-year-old Nils Höglander - and fell to the ice.

Höglander received a match penalty and was suspended in five matches, while Fredrik Styrman got help from the ice.

The officer on the operating table

Luleå first confirmed that the 28-year-old Styrman suffered a concussion. Later, Henrik Stridh, assistant coach at Luleå Hockey, told us that Styrman also injured his knee in the case.

However, it now turns out that the damage has been worse than first feared.

On Monday, the club announced that Styrman is undergoing a cross-band operation during the day. Kalixson now misses the rest of the season.

- We have some long-term injuries now and are keeping track of the player market due to this, says General Manager Stefan Nilsson on the club's social media.
