Jos van Emden gave Jumbo-Visma the 52nd victory of the season on Sunday. The experienced Dutchman was the best in the Chrono des Nations, a French one-day time trial.
Van Emden completed the 46 kilometer long course with start and finish in Les Herbiers in a time of 55 minutes and 2 seconds. That made him more than faster than the competition.
The podium was completed in France by Team INEOS rider Filippo Ganna, who finished second in eleven seconds, and Jumbo-Visma teammate Primoz Roglic (55.21).
The 34-year-old Van Emden had day success for the sixth time this year. In 2019 he became Dutch time trial champion for the second time and with Dutch he was the best in the mixed time trial at the World Championship in Yorkshire.
Jumbo-Visma has the most successful cycling season ever. Dylan Groenewegen, who signed for the 51st victory of the Dutch team more than a week ago, has the largest share with sixteen victories.
With this year's 52 victories, Jumbo-Visma only has to tolerate Deceuninck-Quick-Step. The Belgian formation recorded no fewer than 66 victories.
