Perseus Karlström won a bronze medal during the World Cup in Doha just over two weeks ago. Today, he followed up the medal by racing home 20 km which begins the mini-tour in Japan that determines the overall World Cup, the IAAF Race Walking Challenge.

He is currently three points behind the World Cup gold medalist from 20 kilometers, Toshikazu Yamanishi from Japan, who is not, however, in the mini-window. To win the World Cup, victory is required in the overall mini-tour, which continues with two distances to 12 km each, where the total time decides.

“Great day !!! I took a superior victory, ”he writes on his Facebook page.

- It's going to be a lot of tactics, after all everyone just gets tired and tired. Everyone feels dirty on day three, haha, he told Aftonbladet before the competition.

If he wins the total cup, he will bring home SEK 245,000 in prize money, which is around 50,000 more than the bronze in Doha gave.
