Twelve women were selected in the Norwegian national coach Ole Morten Iversen's squad for the coming season. One of those left outside was the young sprint talent Kristine Stavås Skistad, who was instead adapted to the so-called stretch route.

- I thought I'd come along. But apparently six sprinters have proven more than I have done, Stavås Skidstad said in connection with the talk.

"Think it's right"

And the women's coach Iversen has received heavy support in his decision. The world's best female skier of all time, Marit Björgen, is behind the association's decision.

- I think it's right that she's on the recruiting team, it's the right way to go. Since then she has been to some gathering and been given the opportunity to push along with the A-team. I think that decision is absolutely right, ”Björgen tells Aftonbladet during a press conference in Norway.

The World Cup in cross-country skiing starts in Ruka on November 29, which you can see in SVT.
