Ymer broke to 5-3 in the second set they were broken back when he was to serve the match home. Ymer could then break back again and decide on his first match ball when 64-ranked Sousa hit a wide forehand.

The 75-ranked Ymer delighted the small crowd most at 0-30 points at the lead with 4-3 in the second set. He managed two smashes and was then able to miraculously pass Sousa, rescues that sparkled.
