SOFIA (Reuters) - About 20 police officers raided the Bulgarian Football Federation's headquarters in Sofia less than an hour after its president Borislav Mihailov resigned after racist abuse during a Euro 2020 qualifier against England on Monday.

"I can confirm the presence of the police officers but I cannot give any details at this time," a Bulgarian Football Federation spokeswoman told Reuters on Tuesday.

Sources close to the matter told Reuters the officers were looking for documents linked to some of Bulgaria's rulers.

The match, which took place on Monday evening, saw racist abuse of England, who won a six-seater in Sofia, and the referee suspended the meeting twice because of racist events.
