The Dutch Juniors also won the third qualifying competition for the European Championships 2021 on Tuesday evening. The team of national coach Erwin van de Looi was 0-4 too strong for the peers of Norway.
Rick van Drongelen opened the score after half an hour in rainy Drammen, after which Calvin Stengs increased the margin to two shortly after the break. Dani de Wit headed the third goal in the 67th minute and Van Drongelen also scored the 0-4 in the final second.
With the big win in Norway, the Junior-Team is still without a loss of points. The Van de Looi team started the European Championship qualifying series in September with a 5-1 win over Young Cyprus and last Friday, their peers from Portugal were beaten 4-2.
The Dutch Juniors are therefore in the lead in group 7 with nine points. Young Portugal has three points less and is second, for Young Belarus, Young Norway, Young Cyprus and Young Gibraltar.
The group winner automatically qualifies for the European Championship of 2021 in Hungary and Slovenia. The two best numbers two play a play-off in November 2020 for the last ticket.

The Dutch Juniors get away well in the third minute
The Dutch Juniors, despite the big win, did not have a very easy time with Young Norway and even quickly escaped a goal. Hugo Vetlesen took advantage of defensive fumbling in the third minute, but his effort lacked direction and strength. The included Ola Brynhildsen found the side net in the rebound.
The Norwegians then withdrew in their own half. The Juniors rarely came through the wall of the home team before half time and created few opportunities, but opened the score after thirty minutes. Fortunately, Van Drongelen tapped in a free kick by Teun Koopmeiners.
It was one of the few achievements in the first half, in which the Dutch Juniors failed to convert the many ball possession into opportunities. Yet the 0-2 was a fact just after the break. At the edge of the penalty area, Stengs took a falling ball on his foot in one go and saw his shot beautifully disappear into the goal. The home team had to show itself more in an offensive way and caused the Dutch Juniors to falter, without becoming very dangerous.
AZ midfielder De Wit then put an end to all the tension by heading in the 0-3. With substitute Dennis Johnsen (PEC Zwolle) in the field, the Norwegians were close to the top goal in the last twenty minutes, but it was the Juniors that struck. Van Drongelen was devastating in the final seconds of the injury time and completed his team's big win.
