Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo says he does not remember the record he broke after scoring his 700th goal in his 2-1 defeat to Ukraine on Monday in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Ronaldo said in press statements after scoring his 95th goal for his country that "the records are achieved naturally and I am not looking for it is chasing me."

"Not everyone can reach these numbers, and I thank all my colleagues, friends, coaches and everyone who helped Cristiano Ronaldo reach their current level."

However, Ronaldo admitted that the defeat against Ukraine reduced the glamor of this achievement.

"This is a great moment in my career, but I feel a bit bit bit angry because we didn't win, we played well but we didn't win, we did our best and we had a lot of chances," he said.

Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Champions League over the ages with 127 goals, and holds the record for the highest number of goals in a season in the Champions League.

He is also Real Madrid's top scorer and Portugal's most capped player of all time.

Ronaldo scored his first five goals in his 2002-2003 career with Sporting. He then scored 118 goals in 232 appearances in six seasons with Manchester United. He also averaged more than one goal per game with Real Madrid, scoring 450 goals in 438 games over nine seasons. With his current team Juventus, Ronaldo has scored 32 goals in 51 games.
