Yakult Seiryo High School Okugawa's No. 1 nomination announced October 15 at 21:01

At a professional baseball draft meeting held on the 17th, Yakult announced that it would nominate Aki Ishikawa Seiryo High School, who won second place in the summer Koshien, first-placed pitcher Nobuyoshi Okugawa.

On the 15th, Yakult held a final scout meeting at the office of the team in Tokyo, attended by newly-established director Shingo Takatsu and managers of the team, and discussed the draft nomination policy.

After the meeting, Takatsu announced that he would appoint Okugawa as the first place in response to interviews by the media.

“It is clear that the pitcher is a weak point considering the current team situation. When I think it ’s a winning pitcher and an immediate fighting force, I think it ’s a high school student, but I think I have the ability to play an active role in the army.”

Okugawa pitched the fastest 154 km straight and various changing balls in a controlled manner, and was the first pitcher chosen by the high school national team for the second consecutive year.

If nominations compete at the draft meeting on the 17th, Takatsu will draw a lottery.

At the previous draft meeting, we announced that Nippon Ham and Lotte will be nominated first for pitcher Aki Sasaki of Iwate Ofunato High School, the fastest 163 km.
