Paris Saint-Germain has to do without star player Neymar for the time being. The Brazilian attacker is suffering from a hamstring injury and cannot take action for at least four weeks.

Neymar sustained the injury on Sunday during a friendly international match against Nigeria in Singapore (1-1). He grabbed his hamstring early in the game and was replaced by Philippe Coutinho after ten minutes later.

The 27-year-old Neymar underwent an MRI scan on Monday and it turned out that he would be sidelined in the coming weeks. Paris Saint-Germain says in a statement that in a week more will become clear about his recovery time.

It is the third time in a short time that the injured Brazilian cannot take action. At the beginning of last year, Neymar was out of circulation for months due to a broken metatarsal and in June the attacker sustained a serious ankle injury, which cost him participation in the Copa América in his own country.

Neymar missed necessary matches at PSG

Due to his hamstring injury, PSG will have to do without his star player in the coming important weeks. The team of coach Thomas Tuchel plays four league games and two Champions League duels between now and November 10. Neymar has been suspended for one more game in the ball of millions.

The former star player of Santos FC and FC Barcelona played few matches this season, because he did not show up for the first practice sessions of the season this summer in the hope of a transfer and therefore missed the necessary rhythm.

Neymar has played five league games so far this season and has scored four times. Only in the lost home match against Reims (0-2) at the end of September did he not find it.
