Guest of the show Face aux auditeurs on Europe 1, Luis Fernandez has agreed to discuss the news of Paris Saint-Germain. Between disappointment, skepticism and a touch of anger, his heart club does not leave him indifferent.

FACING THE AUDITORS

The football career of Luis Fernandez is closely linked to that of Paris Saint-Germain. Trained at the club, he has played 273 games as a player. Before taking the coaching suit twice and conducting 205 meetings on the Paris bench. But even if he remains attached to this club, the one who was more recently director of the training center for ten months cut short any return. "It's over, it's too late," admits Luis Fernandez, invited Sunday of the program "Face aux auditeurs", which recognizes "several discussions" with President Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Bring the club's history to life

Formally born in 1970, Paris Saint-Germain will celebrate its 50th birthday next year. Half a century of existence that Luis Fernandez hopes to celebrate with the club. "We started with the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye to prepare a nice day at the Camp des Loges," he explains. But for the party to be complete, we must reunite the entire family of PSG according to the former Parisian. "I can not imagine a club celebrating its 50th birthday by forgetting those who have left and those who are still there."

To succeed, Luis Fernandez thinks that the club must invite "all generations who have succeeded". "I want the first ones to be there", as Juste Fontaine explains. "And the presidents too," like Daniel Hechter. "It's the story of PSG, it starts there, not eight, nine years ago." A spike to Zlatan Ibrahimovic who, in 2015, declared that Paris Saint-Germain was born with the arrival of Qatar. "When I once heard someone say that there was nothing before ... I said no you're not allowed In Inter, Real, you do not say that because otherwise you run away quickly. " Luis Fernandez has not yet digested that Nasser Al-Khelaifi did not react at the time.

Give young people a chance

Sports director of the training center until the summer of 2018, Luis Fernandez has seen since seen from the PSG many young hopefuls. "The training, we put it more and more aside" despairs the one who walked the lawns of the Camp des Loges. If he understands that the PSG may have needed to comply with Fair Play Financial, he regrets that his club did not keep "two or three players to integrate with the professional group, to grow them". Luis Fernandez does not hide his disappointment at the disappearance of the reserve team. "That means we do not want more young people at Paris Saint-Germain" according to him.

Disappointed with the premature end of his adventure, in which he had "caught the game", Luis Fernandez thinks it is necessary to maintain the formation within the Paris Saint-Germain. "The pool of Paris is exceptional" he exclaims again. "When I saw recruiters on the edge of the field, I told them not to worry, that there would be for everyone", to highlight the quality of young players in the Paris region.

Limited trust in Thomas Tuchel

Some young people have nevertheless pierced the professional group, like Colin Dagba or Loïc Mbe Soh. The tenure of the young central defender to the right-back position against Reims (0-2) in September has also annoyed Luis Fernandez. "Thomas Tuchel pissed me off with the kids," he admits. The German coach does not have a great deal of popularity in the heart of Luis Fernandez. "Just look at what another German coach, Jurgen Klopp, is doing: when you see Liverpool playing for two or three years, you think that's a coach who has made his team progress."

Nevertheless, Luis Fernandez think that Paris Saint-Germain has a "sufficiently large group" now. Even coached by Thomas Tuchel, he is "carved to win the Champions League". "I would like this coach to succeed with the squad he has and we look forward to him."
