Jermaine Wattimena and Danny Noppert have reached the second round at the World Grand Prix on Monday. Vincent van der Voort went down in the opening round.

Wattimena settled 2-1 in Dublin in the opening round with Englishman Adrian Lewis: 1-3, 3-2 and 3-0. Noppert was then too strong for Northern Irishman Daryl Gurney in two sets: 3-2 and 3-0.

Noppert meets the Englishman Nathan Aspinall in the second round, who barely allowed Van der Voort a chance with 0-3 and 1-3. Wattimena throws against the winner of the match between the Scot Peter Wright and the German Max Hopp.

On Sunday Michael van Gerwen and Jeffrey de Zwaan reached the second round. They meet in it. Van Gerwen is looking forward to his fifth overall win, after winning the tournament in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018.

Raymond van Barneveld did not qualify for the World Grand Prix and is not participating in the tournament for the first time since 2005.

The World Grand Prix differs from other tournaments because the darters must start and end each leg with a double.

NOPPERT WINS! Two years to the day since winning the tournament, Daryl Gurney is OUT of the 2019 BoyleSports World Grand Prix! Danny Noppert took his chances to advance to the second round.
