The Swedish national team is drawn with injury problems as the European Championship qualifier continues over the coming week. Midfielder Pontus Jansson and midfielder Oscar Lewicki have both rebuffed with various injuries, and Victor Nilsson Lindelöf is pulled with back problems that kept him out of games with Manchester United yesterday.

The 25-year-old should have complained of back pain after the Europa League match away against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, a match played on artificial turf in the Netherlands.

- He got a lock in his back earlier this week which made him unable to play yesterday. I haven't had contact with him yesterday, but he was pretty hopeful yesterday when we had contact. So I hope and think it's not that serious. The medical team is going to start working with him today, says federation captain Janne Andersson to SVT Sport, and continues:

- I'm pretty hopeful that he'll get some more. But we take it day by day.

Meets Malta on Saturday

Pontus Jansson is replaced by Marcus Danielson, Djurgården, and Oscar Lewicki by Alexander Fransson, IFK Norrköping.

Sweden meets Malta away on Saturday and Spain at home three days later.
