Team Isabella Wranå is Sweden's second best team on the women's side, and last week got the chance to meet the reigning Olympic champions in Lag Hasselborg in an European qualifying match in the best of seven matches.

However, the younger girls in Team Wranå did not have much to oppose, and lost in four straight matches.

Reigning champion

But they quickly rebounded. In the world tour competition Paf Open, where they were reigning champions, they won five of six matches. In the final against the Swiss in the team Irene Schori, where the skipper Schori including two World Cup and one European gold on the track record, there was never any talk about which team was the better.

Team Wranå took the lead in the second round, and when skipper Isabella Wranå in the eighth and final round at position 5-1 to the Swedes knocked out two Swiss stones, the thing was clear.

Make Edin trea

Switzerland's chance of winning was thus gone, and the Swedes were able to celebrate a 5-1 victory.

Even the Sweden ones on the men's side, the reigning world champions in Team Niklas Edin, have been on the move this weekend. They finished third in the world cup competition Swiss Cup in Basel. They lost the semi-final against Team Ross Paterson from Scotland, but then won the bronze match against Paterson's compatriots in Team Cameron Bryce.
