LONDON (Reuters) - Tottenham struggled after a new Champions League loss a few days after a humiliating Champions League defeat, and the London side lost the services of French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after suffering a serious injury.

Tottenham were beaten 7-2 at home by Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and the players were eager to achieve a positive result in the domestic league, to ease the pressure on the team, which has been fluctuating results since the season.

Brighton, however, surprised their Londoners with a 3-0 defeat of the Premier League on Saturday.

Brighton entered the attacking striker from the first minute, trying to score an early goal confusing the accounts of the opponent, which was achieved in the third minute through French Niall Mobay.

As Tottenham looked for a draw, Brighton added a second through Irishman Aaron Connolly in the 32nd minute to take the hosts ahead of the first half with a clean double.

Tottenham's players tried in every way to reduce the result, but came the 65th minute, during which Connolly added his second and third goal for his team.

With this result, Tottenham freeze at 11 points in sixth place, while Brighton have 9 points in the 12th place, and Liverpool top the standings with 21 points.

The match saw goalkeeper Hugo Lloris seriously injured in the first goal shot.

Loris, the captain of the French team and crowned him with the World Cup title, fell on his left arm when he conceded the first goal by Brighton, and was unable to continue playing and came out immediately during the game.

The 32-year-old Loris needed ventilator and gave Morphine to help ease the pain before he was taken to hospital, PT Sport reported.
