In a high quality ball qualification, Wictor Pettersson was nowhere near the final. The qualifying limit was set at 20.90, two inches above Petersson's personal best from earlier this summer.

Petersson's first bump measured 20.31, which was also his best. Petersson's second shock was shorter and the Malmö thrower chose to step over. When the same procedure then repeated in the third and final bump, Petersson's World Cup was over for this time.

- He has had a nice season. He makes a fully approved World Cup. He had to surpass himself to make it to the final, says SVT Sports expert Kajsa Bergqvist.

The competition is going on and right now twelve have passed the qualifying limit.
