Morocco coach Vahid Khalilouzic has called up 26 players for two friendlies against Libya and Gabon in preparation for the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Cameroon.

The squad includes 23 professional players abroad, and the absence of former captain Mehdi Benatia, who announced his retirement from international play, as well as 11 players excluded for various reasons, after they were in the squad in the matches of Burkina Faso and Niger.

Among them are goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Teknouti, who is being held for disciplinary reasons, along with Younes Belhanda, Sofiane Boufal, Walid Azzaro and Mehdi Karsila.

Al-Nasr striker Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah, the top scorer in the Saudi league, continued to be absent amid speculation of a disciplinary decision after the player pulled out of the Morocco squad before heading to Egypt, which hosted the 2019 African Cup of Nations after a dispute with Faisal Fajr and Younis Belhanda.

Khalilozic, who took over from Frenchman Herve Ronar, was content with three players from the Moroccan league.

Morocco will enter a closed camp at the national center of Maamoura in Sale between October 7 and 10.

On 11 October, they will face Libya in Oujda and play with
Gabon in Tangier four days later.

Morocco begin their African Nations Cup qualifiers by hosting Mauritania in November.
