The UAE Professional League has announced the winners of the monthly Best of the Month Awards for the month of September, after the expiry of the voting period. Second place, Ajman club striker, Ghanaian William Osso, came in third.
Voting for the first edition of the 2019-2020 new season kicked off yesterday, and the 24-hour voting ended in the second afternoon.
Baniyas goalkeeper Fahad al-Dhanhani won the goalkeeper of the month award by beating Al Ahli youth goalkeeper Majid Nasser, who finished second, while Al Dhafra goalkeeper Khalid Al Sinani came third.
In terms of coaches, Al Ahli youth coach Rodolfo Arwabarina became the first foreign coach to win the award after beating Sharjah coach Abdul Aziz Al Anbari, who was crowned with all the best monthly awards last season. Third, according to the public vote.
The winners will receive their prizes before the start of their team's matches during the third round of the Arabian Gulf League, which starts this evening.
The list of candidates for each month will include three names in each category, selected based on statistics provided by the company «Opta» global specialized in sports statistics. Statistics are limited to players' performance in the Arabian Gulf League only.
