A torrent of rejection and criticism for the establishment of the Spanish Super Cup in its new system in Saudi Arabia in January 2020.

The most recent rejection came on Saturday from Atletico Madrid manager Clemente Villafardi, who said his team would prefer to play in a country that "respects rights, behavior and attitudes".

"We know the problems that Saudi Arabia is experiencing, especially with regard to the issue of piracy, and it is not advisable to play the Spanish supercar there," he said.

"We have to wait until the end to see where the new tournament will be decided. There are many people affected if the tournament is held there."

Barcelona and Valencia will participate in the tournament as champions of the cup and league, and Atletico Madrid as second-placed in La Liga and Real Madrid, where the rules require the inclusion of third-placed in La Liga, especially since the tournament does not specify a third-place.

Competitions will begin with the elimination of the Golden Square and not the group system.

It is noteworthy that the Spanish government - and through its spokeswoman - expressed its unwillingness to be held in a state "women's rights are not respected."

UEFA announced Tuesday that it had sent a proposal to all European leagues not to hold matches in countries where human rights are not respected.
