A new chapter in Eekhoff gate. The UCI has distributed new images that should support the decision to disqualify him.

Just watched the footage of Eekhoff being paced by the Dutch team car for 2 1/2 minutes until he gets back into the convoy of cars - this is an extract from it. Absolutely no doubt that the UCI jury made the right decision in disqualifying him # Yorkshire2019

Of course there are not only Dutch favorites. Marta Bastianelli (Italy), Chloé Dygert (United States), Coryn Rivera (United States), Elisabeth Deignan (Great Britain) and Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Poland) are just a few names that can threaten the Orange brigade.

The women will start in Bradford in a few minutes. From there, the peloton runs towards Harrogate. In that place the riders will ride three local laps of about 13 kilometers. The arrival is slightly sloping and therefore made for Marianne Vos.

Samuelle Batistella, who became world champion yesterday because Nils Eekhoff was disqualified, sympathizes with his Dutch competitor. "You crossed the finish line first, but it is not my fault that the UCI has made this decision. You are strong and who knows you might wear the rainbow jersey with the elite."

I'm sorry @nilseekhoff because you passed the finish line for first and was not my fault if the UCI took that decision .. You are strong maybe one day you can wear the rainbow jersey on the wt category 😉 🌈

The disqualification of Nils Eeckhof, whose world title was taken away from the promises yesterday, keeps the minds busy today. Marnik Vansevenant, who portrayed the Eeckhof incident from the motorcycle, strongly disagrees with the decision. "I don't want to feed the thousands who, after a breakdown or fall, rightly rely on human resources to where they were until their incident."

Testimony of the motard who rode with the VRT cameraman behind @nilseekhoff after his fall. Marnik was once Belgian champion with the newcomers. #ProficiatNils

"We can play chess with many pawns"
In addition to Vos, the Netherlands naturally has two major favorites: Annemiek van Vleuten and Anna van der Breggen, who won her first world title in Innsbruck last year. "We can play chess with many more pawns," says Vos. "That means that we can win from different scenarios, instead of having only one winning scenario that should succeed." Vos is not afraid of a battle between themselves. "Of course, we have several strong riders. But I think we know each other well enough to see that as a force. I understand that it's fun to talk about it, but it's not something that matters to us." [3/3]

"I could not have drawn the course better"
The trail in Yorkshire is hilly and has a difficult arrival. Ideal for a puncher like Vos. "I don't think I could have drawn the course much better for myself," smiles the 2006, 2012 and 2013 world champions. "The course is selective and will weigh heavily, and the local lap in the final is technical. there is an arrival that suits me and where I should be able to sprint well with my explosiveness. That is all very nice, but it is still a World Cup, so it must all be a bit better too. " [2/3]

Fox goes for fourth rainbow jersey
For years Marianne Vos won pretty much everything that was loose and stuck, but that period has been behind her for a while. The Brabant player, however, is working on a strong comeback this season and is even considered one of the favorites for gold this afternoon. Vos already won nineteen races this year, including La Course and four stages in the Giro Rosa. That while she has been working for her teammates in recent years. "Last year, as the season progressed, I had more and more moments that I thought: this is the level that I have worked for a few years and that I was looking for. This season is not only a confirmation of this, but perhaps it is even a superlative. It is a special year. " [1/3]
