Tobias Ludvigsson is Sweden's by far the best cyclist on the men's side, and came eight on one stage in the prestigious competition Vuelta (Spain Runt) a couple of weeks ago.

But the heavy stage race in Spain took its toll. Ludvigsson is now forced to stand over this week's World Cup in England.

"He is too tired," Confederate Lucas Persson said in a press release.

Fades expectations

In Sunday's race, he is replaced by Kim Magnusson, who took the SM gold in line two years ago, and Kim Magnusson.

- As a nation, Sweden is ranked 53rd in UCI's ranking system, which means we only have one place on the men's line race at the World Cup. Place 30 is the next limit to get more starting places. That's why we applied for an extra place that has now been approved, says Lucas Persson, who, however, lowers expectations on the Swedes.

- It's not a snack. The men's line race at the World Cup is the world's toughest cycling race and it is fun that we get two men's races to start. But there will be no far-reaching investments in this tough competition, but if they can be far ahead it is positive.
