With Leksand back in SHL, it was time for yet another edition of the classic rivalry meeting between the valley team and Brynäs. And at first it was clear that it was the Leksand players who were the most tagged. Already after 25 seconds, David Rundqvist put 1-0 to the home team after a fine solo performance where he rounded up Josef Ingman and then fine off Samuel Ersson in the Brynäs goal.

The goalkeeping rookie Ersson did not get a good start, and it would be worse. After four minutes, Patrik Zackrisson put 2-0, and after just over nine minutes came 3-0 through Daniel Olsson Trkulja. Three goals on nine shots, and Samuel Ersson had to thank him, and came in with routine Joacim Eriksson.

- It's not okay, it's really bad out there. Everyone has to get up and get in the collar and show that we want to show the match out there, says Brynäs captain Anton Rödin to C More after the first period.

Never catch up

But the switch to a more experienced goalkeeper helped little. Because even though Brynäs in the second period lifted the game and created several good goals chances, the period ended 1-1, and it was still a three-goal lead for Leksand before the third.

If Brynäs lifted the game in second, it was the opposite in third, when it looked abandoned. Instead of a reduction hunt, it was Leksand who created the most chances, and also deducted when Lucas Nordsäter put the final score 5-1.

Shouts to the audience

After the victory, Leksandskaptenen Martin Karlsson paid tribute to the audience who gave them the energy they needed.

- I think it's the hard work behind it. Then it's hard to get tired when you have this support in your back, he tells C More.

With the victory, Leksand went up in series management as a newcomer, before the second newcomer Oskarshamn in second place. But it's not something they focus on in the team.

- We didn't look at it so much, we take it match by match, says Karlsson.
