Former Memphis Grizzlies and New Jersey Nets player Andre Emmett, number 35 of the 2004 Draft by Seattle Supersonics, was shot dead last morning in his hometown of Dallas (United States), local media confirm.

Emmett, 37, was killed after a shooting that remains under investigation. He was currently a member of the 3's Company of the BIG3 league , where former NBA stars and other retired players play and of which he was proclaimed champion in 2018.

The American forward was released in the NBA, in which he played 14 games, in 2005 with the Grizzlies, the year in which he coincided with the Spanish Pau Gasol, and in 2012 he played in New Jersey Nets. He also played in Lithuania, Venezuela, Mexico, France, Belgium, Lebanon, the Philippines, South Korea or Puerto Rico.
