The National Teams and Technical Affairs Committee of the Football Association has approved a program to prepare the Olympic national team in preparation for the Asian Under-23 Cup, which is scheduled in Thailand next January, and qualify for the finals of the Olympic Games «Tokyo 2020».

The Committee approved the program prepared by the technical staff of the team, which includes several gatherings and training camps before heading to Thailand.

This came during a meeting held yesterday at the headquarters of the Association of Professionals in the capital Abu Dhabi, headed by Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, Vice-President of the Federation, in the presence of Hassan Abdul Wahab, Rashid Al Zaabi, Dr. Hassan Suhail and Abdullah Ali members of the Board of Directors, Mohammed Abdullah bin Hazam Al-Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Football Association, and Ibrahim Al-Nimr Assistant Secretary General for Technical Affairs.

The meeting discussed preparations, participations, training camps, and programs of the technical and administrative staff of the youth and youth teams in the next phase.

The committee recommended setting the appropriate program for the youth team in preparation for participation in the Asian Cup finals in Bahrain in 2020. The committee also recommended setting a similar program for the youth team preparing for the Asian qualifiers to be held in Iran next November, after reviewing the programs presented by the technical teams of the two teams. .

Mohammed bin Hazam al-Dhaheri said that the meeting reviewed several points and reports of interest to the preparations of the youth and Olympic teams, and approved all technical plans prepared for this purpose.

He said in a press statement: «discussed the preparations of the first national team for the next match in the Asian qualifiers and the World Cup 2022, which will be open to the public, and preparations made by the technical staff, and were reviewed some reports concerning the technical management and development centers of its own».

Al Dhaheri congratulated Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Football Federation on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom, and the Secretary General of the Football Association blessed the youth team qualification for the finals of the Asian Cup in Bahrain in 2020 with the full mark, which is a great achievement for the rising team, which represents the hope of the UAE football in the near future. Al-Dhaheri also congratulated the youth team, who managed to win the bronze medal at the recent West Asian Championship.
