After a couple of fine competitions, Fredrik Lindgren had only five points up to Leon Madsen in third place in the World Championships, ahead of tonight's ninth competition in the World Cup series.

But in Cardiff tonight things were worse than it has been lately.

Madsen won the final

It took the semi-finals.

And something that made it even more difficult was that Madsen just won the final, taking four straight heats. As a result, Lindgren now has eleven points up to Madsen with only one competition left.

The World Cup series will be decided in Polish Torun on October 5.
