Japan National Team strengthens training camp for blind football Asian Championship September 21 19:20

Next year's Tokyo Paralympic Games, Japan's first blind soccer team aiming for a medal, started a training camp on the 21st toward the Asian Championship starting at the end of this month, and worked on a practice that assumed a real battle.

In blind soccer, four athletes with visual impairments wear eye masks and rely on the sound of the ball with the bell and the voice of the guide to aim for the goal.

The Japanese national team entered the training camp in Chiba City for the Asian Championship to be held in Thailand from the end of this month. On the first day of the 21st, the players confirmed their formation in a defensive set play.

In the defensive shoot practice, the ace-and-blind player Akira Kawamura showed a good finish, such as making an accurate shot from every dribble.

The Japanese national team of blind soccer has been determined to participate in the Tokyo Paralympic Games for the first time in the host country, but currently the world ranking is 13th, and raising the score and raising the level of the members is a challenge.

The Asian Championship will be the third place in the world, and the sixth place in Iran, so it will be an important place to test your skills for next year.

Captain Kawamura said, “We want to be well prepared to play aggressive football and fight one game at a time. We want to win the Asian championship and make a move toward the actual Tokyo tournament.”
