Brynäs started the fall with a win in the premiere away to Frölunda and loss after extension - including that away - against Linköping on Tuesday.

When it was time for a home premiere, Färjestad stood on the other side. A little special meeting for Samuel Ersson who two years ago was a third goal keeper in the Gävle Club and because of a messy injury situation then had to make an unexpected jump in after a period against the Karlstadslaget.

It was a heavy SHL debut at that time with two quickly admitted goals and finally a loss, and there have been no more SHL matches for Ersson after that until now that he was back in Gävle.

Played well

But last winter's big success in Västerås has obviously strengthened the 19-year-old who read the game well against Färjestad and who this Saturday looked like anything but a newcomer in the league.

Ersson admittedly had to pick the puck out of his own net already after 6.42 of the first period, when Per Åslund finished a nice passing game for the guests by receiving a puck sideways and snapping in the puck from the right side.

And he was also lucky to have a handful of minutes later when Färjestadsforward Michael Lindqvist dotted the post instead of the net but held tight in the second period where instead it was Brynäs who took more and more.

Ersson had to capitulate

New forward Jaedon Descheneau has shown his goalkeeping during the preseason and was close to receipt now when he tried to book the puck under the Faroese goalkeeper Markus Svensson but was denied a goal when it was not shown on the video whether the puck was over the line or not.

A minute later, the Canadian got cheering after the forward friend Tomi Sallinen snuck into the puck behind the Färjestads goal, turned over and whipped in a receipt to the 1-1 kitchen road.

In the third, it was Brynäspress, Brynästryck and when several good rescues were needed from Samuel Ersson's side, not least when Gustav Rydahl was released in an early game turn.

But. Brynäs failed to translate his pressure into more goals and halfway into the third period, Ville Leskinen managed to trick Ersson to go in the wrong direction at the same time as the Färjestads Forward posted the victory puck (2-1) along the ice where Ersson should have stood.
