Djurgården was tipped for the season as a top team by most, having recruited national team duo Olivia Schough and Hanna Folkesson, among others.

But instead, the season has become a single long fight at the bottom of the table.

Three points below the line

Prior to today's games, they were second to last, with two points up to Limhamn Bunkeflo above the relegation line.

But after Djurgården's match against Gothenburg and LB's against Kristianstad, Djurgården's distance is now three points.

Very LB ball

They themselves lost by 1-3, while LB took a somewhat unexpected score against Kristianstad.

LB's 2–2 result was perhaps not completely unfair to the match picture, as the team had a lot of ball and a couple of positions.

Tackled at the line

But the way in which the points came about is going to be much debated. With just under a quarter left, an LB player was tackled by Sif Atladottir just off the penalty area.

Referee Sara Wiinikka initially signaled for a free kick, but after conferring with the assistant referee on the other side of the pitch, she changed her mind and instead pointed to the penalty - despite major protests from the Kristianstad players, protests that the TV pictures judging were understandable.

Important points

Nathalie Persson then stepped forward and put the penalty in a stern-proof rib.

2–2 then stood out the match. An important point for LB, and a heavy loss for Kristianstad lies four and chases the second Vittsjö, which currently holds the second and last Champions League points. Vittsjö is currently two points ahead of Kristianstad, with a match more played.

Four rounds remain of the series.
