The football players of Ajax have won the top match in the Eredivisie against FC Twente with 2-1 on Friday evening. PSV did not go further than 1-1 against ADO Den Haag in front of their own public, but the Eindhoven women remain leaders.
Dutch national team player Desiree van Lunteren gave Ajax the lead after a half hour on De Toekomst from a free kick against Twente. Bente Jansen brought the Tukkers alongside early in the second half, after which Eshly Bakker gave the home team the win in the final phase.
PSV took the lead in mid-first half against ADO thanks to a hit by Katja Snoeijs. The home team seemed on its way to the fourth victory of the season, but in the final stages, Chasity Grant took care of the tying run.
PSV and Ajax now both have ten points, but the Brabant formation is in the lead thanks to a better goal difference. Reigning Dutch champion FC Twente is third with sixth points and ADO occupies fourth place with five points.
In the third game of Friday night in the Eredivisie Women, VV Alkmaar and PEC Zwolle played 2-2. For the Overijssel team, that meant the first point of this season.
