CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's Al-Ahly defeated their stubborn arch-rivals Zamalek in the second half and won the Egyptian Super Cup title on Friday by winning 3-2 in a thrilling and enthusiastic match at the Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria.

Al-Ahly dealt a heavy blow to his stubborn rival Zamalek to win this precious title one day before the start of the activities of the new season of the Egyptian league note that this super belongs to the super before last 2017/2018.

Al Ahli seemed to have settled the game almost completely after finishing the first half in favor of two goals scored by Nigerian Junior Ajayi and Hussein Al-Shahat in the 19th and third minutes in stoppage time and then consolidated the lead with a third goal also scored in the 49th minute.

Zamalek responded with two goals from defender Mahmoud Alaa from the penalty spot in the 64th and 76th minutes.

Al-Ahly, who won the title today for the second consecutive edition, increased its tally to 11 titles from 16 copies held so far in the history of the Super Championship, which began in 2001.
