The Dutch team has risen three places in the FIFA ranking due to the victories against Germany (2-4) and Estonia (0-4) in the European Championship qualification. Orange is now the number thirteen in the world.

The Netherlands goes beyond Germany on the Thursday-published list. The team of Joachim Löw, who won from Northern Ireland this month after the loss against the Orange (0-2), dropped from place fifteen to place sixteen.

The Dutch national team is the biggest climber in the top 25 of the ranking. Belgium is still in the lead, while world champion France is rising one place and is now second. That is at the expense of the new number three Brazil. Spain climbs from ninth to seventh place.

The Orange squad will play two European Championship qualifiers again next month. Northern Ireland will visit Rotterdam on 10 October and three days later the away match will be against Belarus.

The team of Ronald Koeman is in third place in group C with four games to play, but has played one match less than the number one in Germany and the number two in Northern Ireland. The top two can go to the European Championship next year.
