Para-table tennis star Anna-Carin Ahlquist today took the fifth straight gold when the European Championships were held in Helsingborg. In a smooth final she grabbed a 2-0 lead in the set and had a match ball at 10-9 in the third. But Italian final opponent Michaela Brunelli saved the match ball and towed home the third set by 12-10.

In the fourth, however, there was no snack without Ahlquist winning 11-5 after Brunelli lifted the ball.

Anna-Carin Ahlquist has MS, a disease that is progressive and cannot be stopped.

- It has been important for me not to identify myself with cancer or with MS. I'm Anna-Carin. It is possible to live a good life anyway and I feel incredibly good, ”she told SVT Sport who met her before the European Championships.
