John Lammers is no longer the trainer of Esbjerg fB. The Danish club announced on Monday that the disappointing results were the reason for the dismissal of the Dutchman.
The 56-year-old Lammers, who was also active as a trainer at Excelsior, FC Eindhoven and Jong Vitesse in the past, has been working with the formation from Denmark since the summer of 2017.
In the first year under Lammers, Esbjerg fB was promoted to the highest division and a year later, the club became third in the Superliga. Esbjerg fB is in the current season after nine duels in a disappointing thirteenth and penultimate place with only five points.
On Sunday, the home team lost 0-3 to number seven Randers FC. That result therefore costs Lammers his job.
Esbjerg fB, for which Rafael van der Vaart played four official games last season, this season played in the preliminary rounds of the Europa League. The Belarusian Shakhtyor Soligorsk proved too strong in the second qualifying round.
Assistant trainer Claus Nørgard has been appointed by Esbjerg fB as a temporary replacement for Lammers.
