Rebecca Peterson would have played against Ukrainian world coach Jelina Svitolina in the first round of a WTA tournament in Canton, China, but an injured foot will stop the Swede.

- I had some left foot feelings last week and don't want to risk anything, she says to the Good to Great Journal.

Peterson also felt her left foot during the tournament in Nanchang where, despite the injury, she took the first WTA title of her career.

It is not the first time the left-foot stroller of the 24-year-old is hoping for a comeback in the tournament in Wuhan, China, which begins on September 22.

- I'll take care of it right away so I can be okay with Wuhan. It's probably going to go well, says Peterson to the Good to Great Journal.

The Swedish place in Canton has been taken over by Slovenian qualifier Dalila Jakupovic.
