Thomas Högstedt has previously trained world stars such as Caroline Wozniacki, Na Li, Eugenie Bouchard and Tommy Haas. He has also been alongside Magnus Norman, Jonas Björkman and Joachim "Pim-Pim" Johansson.

As late as this summer he broke off cooperation with the Russian Maria Sharapova. Then he helped Rebecca Peterson, a collaboration that would continue over the US Open in August.

Now it becomes a permanent solution, where Dad Mart Peterson will continue to be present all the time.

- Yes, I've been training her since Wimbledon. We are working to make Rebecca a top player step by step. I'm trying to help Rebecca so she'll reach the top one day. She can go very far, but has much to improve. A wonderful girl to work with. Daddy Mart has done a fantastic job with her as her coach. She is very willing to exercise, says Thomas Högstedt to SVT Sport.

"He knows what it takes"

Rebecca Peterson is pleased to have Högstedt coached.

- We haven't driven so many weeks yet, but it has been incredibly fun to have him on the team with my dad, who is also my coach. I just want to develop all the time and be better as a player so I'm glad he is with us, ”says the 24-year-old himself to SVT Sport.

What has he contributed so far?

- He is incredibly experienced. He himself has been a player and coached an incredible number of high-ranking players so he contributes with a lot of experience and how the best have worked and how the best think, so I try to take everything in and build on it. He is incredibly driven and knows what it is what it takes to be in the absolute top. It is a lot of hard work and really a belief in what you do and give everything every day.
