Sporting CP has lost points in the league on Sunday in the run-up to the match in the Europa League group stage with PSV. Against Boavista it became 1-1.
Marlon Xavier gave Boavista the lead in the seventh minute by shooting from a great distance from a free kick.
Sporting, which recently fired coach Marcel Keizer, reached the same level after more than an hour of playing. Player Bruno Fernandes was also accurate from a free kick. The midfielder received his second yellow card in injury time.
After five matches, the formation from Lisbon is only in fifth place with eight points. FC Familicão is the surprising leader, with one point more than Benfica and two points more than FC Porto. That team only won in Portimonense injury time: 3-2.
