Mathieu van der Poel has won the Tour of Great Britain on Saturday. The Dutchman also sprinted to victory in the eighth and final stage.

Van der Poel started the last leg with a twelve second lead on number two Matteo Trentin. The Italian went on the offensive in the final, but failed to get away.

The peloton eventually stayed together and in the mass sprint Van der Poel rode to his third victory in this round.

The 24-year-old Van der Poel won two stages in the Tour of Great Britain earlier this week. On Tuesday the leader of Corendon-Circus was impressively the strongest in the fourth stage and on Friday he sprinted to win in the seventh stage.
