Before the WTA tournament in China, Rebecca Peterson had never been in a final in singles. But now she is ready to play the final after defeating Serbian Nina Stojanovic with clear numbers.
Something that became decisive was how Peterson handled the break chances, both for and against. For both Peterson and Stojanovic had six break chances were during the match, but the difference was that Peterson won five of six while Stojanovic lost five of his six chances.
Peterson especially showed class in the second set where she didn't let up much after losing the first clip. She won six straight after that, and after a long match ball that Stojanovic finally put in the net, the first final was a fact for the Swede.
