Senegal international striker Sadio Mane scored twice and his Egyptian team-mate Mohamed Salah added a goal to lead Liverpool to a late 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday in the opening of the fifth round of the Premier League.

Liverpool continued their impressive run of the season and maintained their full mark so far with a fifth successive win, taking the tally to 15 points at the top of the table.

Newcastle took the lead through Dutchman Witro Willems (7), and Liverpool responded with two goals for Sadio Mane (28 and 40) to end the first half Liverpool lead 2-1.

In the second half, Salah scored a great goal (82) confirmed the victory of Liverpool and alone at the top of the competition table.
