The match between Redbergslid and IFK Skövde was forced to be interrupted after just under two minutes of play on Wednesday due to condensation which caused the players to slump on the floor.

RIK has Scandinavium as a temporary home arena when the Liseberg Hall has been demolished and no new arena is planned. Magnus Wislander, club icon and now assistant coach at Redbergslid, hopes that what happened was a one-off event.

- Hopefully it is just a mistake of those who will make the hall to us. I know I've played international matches there in the past when it's been that way. It's just hope they fix it for the next game, he tells SVT Sport.

Critical to the city of Gothenburg

The next home game for Redbergslid is on September 23. Where do you play then?

- I assume it is in Scandinavium. We have no opportunity to play anywhere else. This is about the city of Gothenburg and the conditions they give us, so simple it is. We are not interested in playing in any other arena as long as we do not have our own hall.

How do you feel about the issue of arena issues?

- As someone who is passionate about handball, it is clear that it is not so good that there is no hall available. Then not only are we affected, but there are several buildings and halls that are substandard.

- As a sports enthusiast, one wonders how interested the city of Gothenburg is of pursuing sports at all, both in terms of top and breadth.

"Nobody wants to make decisions"

Redbergslid has long been in the city of Gothenburg for a solution to the hall at the demolition of Lisebergshallen, without any decision being made.

Does the air start to get out of you a little?

- Yes, it feels like a hopelessness in some way. Soon, the only option left is private financing, but buying land is not the easiest in the world either. It feels like a squirrel wheel spinning, where everyone thinks a new arena is needed but no one wants to make the decisions.

After the barely two minutes played on Wednesday, a kind of new premiere awaits on Sunday. Then RIK meets the reigning champions Sävehof in Partille.

- The players aren't supposed to be worn out from the last game anyway, haha. We are obviously tagged, it is a derby and against Sävehof who won gold this spring. We look forward to it, says Wislander.
