It was a reassuring victory in the end for the Norrbotten. But Luleå's star player Emma Nordin was denied the two opening periods despite a 1-0 lead.

- I think it's very unstructured overall. It feels like it's a premiere match, there's a lot left to work on. I make higher demands on myself than I show today, Nordin tells SVT in the break.

But in the third period, the Luleå goals came at the same time as Modo became increasingly tired. First a shot of Jenny Hiirikoski that was guided by the new acquisition Nicoline Söndergaard Jensen, and then time for experienced Johanna Fällman to premiere in numerical superiority.

Modo started offensively

Otherwise, it was Modo who seemed to have longed extra for the season premiere: the guests started with hard pressure against the team referred to as "Swedish women's hockey power" right now after two straight SM golds.

An epithet that soon reminded itself. Modo fell back and in the middle of the first period came the management goal. Josefine Hoegh Persson saw a gap between the legs of a Modo player and passed out Michelle Karvinen, who unmarked could put the puck behind Klara Peslarova and celebrate the season's first goal.

The post rescued double

But the match was far from settled. Modo, a young team with many players born after the 21st century, fought bravely and did not take out any loss in advance.

- I am impressed by Modo, they are doing this really well, comments SVT's Chris Härenstam.

In the middle period, guests were close to acknowledging when Ebba Tärnfjord via skate basically fashioned the puck into the net but the post saved for Sara Grahn this time.

The post also saved Modo's save just minutes later when Michelle Karvinen was again free on goal, but the middle period ended speechless.
