Växjö's World Cup back leaves for Madrid
Nigerian World Cup back Osinachi Ohale leaves damall Swedish Växjö with immediate effect, reports local media. Ohale has been recruited to CD Tacón, which will change its name to Real Madrid next year.
- For Osinachi, a dream comes true and for us the sales contribute to a much needed cash supplement that helps us secure continued elite license, says Växjö's sports manager Johnny Lindman to Smålandsposten.
The 27-year-old defender played all four World Cup matches for Nigeria this summer. Växjö does not want to state how big the transfer sum is, but admits that the club got well paid considering that Oale's contract expires after the season.
- Yes, and just considering that only six matches remain of the season, I would like to say that we got uniquely well paid. But Tacón has been very keen on getting Ohale ready as soon as possible.
In the Madrid club, Ohale becomes a clubmate with the Swedish national team duo Kosovare Asllani and Sofia Jakobsson.
