“For our A-teams in football, women and men, this means that you always have the same resources and conditions when you play matches and participate in international tournaments. Playing in the national team is an honorary assignment, and not an alternative to any acquisition income that the player receives from his association. Financial compensation must therefore be paid only to a very limited extent. To the extent SvFF directly affects and dispose of this compensation to the national team players - and who are not dependent on external conditions such as audience figures and prize money from international federations - the financial conditions are equal. Thus, e.g. the overall compensation and the winning prizes for international matches are completely equal ” , can be read in SvFF's opinion.

The Swedish Football Association does not want to reveal the sums it is about and demands continued confidentiality regarding the agreements.

The union has already been investigated by the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) for unequal compensation for women and men's players.

SVT Sport has been in contact with DO who respond that they have started the examination of the material and that the confidentiality examination is handled promptly.
