Martinsen has so far stayed out of the conflict between her national team players and the hockey association.

On Monday, she was present at the pre-SDHL start meeting on Friday and was unable to pose the questions.

- Of course, it's a very boring situation, but I'm trying to put the energy and focus on November. Getting the season started there and the trip back to the A-World Cup. Then we get to see what that trip will look like, says Martinsen, whose team will then play at home in Luleå against the USA, Canada and Finland.

TT: You sure there is an agreement until then?

- I have to assume that, I can't do anything else. It is a home tournament after all, so I have all hopes that it will be resolved, ”she says.

Don't feel support

It was before a national team camp on Bosön with a subsequent tournament in Finland in August that 43 players in Damkronorna went on strike. Mostly because the compensation for lost work income was removed, but also because the players did not feel support from the union.

Negotiations are ongoing, the players' union Sico has submitted a draft national team agreement that the union has not taken a position on. The next meeting will be on Wednesday.

"Not involved"

Ylva Martinsen has been a successful player in the Women's World Cup and took the Olympic silver in 2006, but does not want to say if she thinks the players are right:

- I may have many different opinions, but they are not relevant. I'm focusing on taking out a national team and hopefully competing in November.

TT: Have you received a donut from your employer?

- No, but I haven't been involved in this. After all, it is between the hockey association's management and Sico who represent the players. That's the way it should be. It has been clear from the beginning that this is not about my mission or the other leaders, she says.
