Djurgården last lost to Vienna on away and for almost two periods against Polish Tychy, who defeated Djurgården 6-2 on away, it was 0-0 in a torn match. Djurgården attracted a lot of deportations and had a hard time establishing any real game.

With just over three minutes left of the second period Djurgården took a timeout and coach Robert Ohlsson was noticeably upset. Immediately Anton Hedman called for an expulsion, but the team managed to hold tightly in the numerical sub.

With less than two seconds left of the period, Olle Alsing snapped up the puck in powerplay and pulled on from the blue line until 1-0. Tychy had previously had a goal sentenced for kicking.

In the third period, Alsing followed up with his second goal of the day as his draw shot into the net roof until 2-0, which was also the final result. Shortly thereafter, Djurgården had a third puck inside, but the goal was sent off. Tychy took out the goalkeeper with just under two minutes left, but failed to create any danger.

Earlier in the day, Luleå took a big step towards the playoffs in the Champions Hockey League since Filip Hållander settled, until 5-4, with 17 seconds left of the extension.
