Lamborghini Sián: the future of Italian supercars is also hybrid

Lamborghini was expected to give way to hybridization and here it is. The Lamborghini Sián , which will be presented at the next Frankfurt Motor Show , will be the first step towards a future where 'electrostimulation' serves to make its supercars even more spectacular and powerful.

The Sián will combine the traditional V12 (atmospheric) propeller , which Lamborghini does not want to give up - at least in this prototype - with a new hybrid system , although still 'shy' in terms of performance. For the first time, supercapacitors and no traditional battery will be used for the electrical part.

The electrical part will consist of a small 34 horsepower engine located in the gearbox and that acts directly on the wheels, although it will only drive the Sián by itself at low speed maneuvers. In all other situations, it will support the combustion engine with an additional thrust in accelerations.

The propeller will feed on the energy accumulated in supercapacitors , three times lighter and with triple the capacity of lithium-ion batteries, but with the same power. Another advantage is that they are fully charged with the braking energy , so that your extra thrust will always be available. And, in total, the entire electrical part of the new Lamborghini weighs only 34 kilos , a totally acceptable figure.

The Sián power plant leaves at 819 horsepower combined, a record in Lamborghini, but it is combined with a very light weight . Although the manufacturer does not give the data, if he announces that this car will have the best weight / power ratio than any other V12 in the history of the brand.

Of course, their numbers impress. The 0 to 100 km / h completes it in 2.8 seconds and its maximum speed will be above 350 km / h . That is, we are facing the Lamborghini with greater acceleration and faster of all time . Of course, there will not be many who can enjoy this new Italian creation since the Sián will be produced in a limited circulation, to 63 units, which are all already awarded.
