Soccer Thailand national team coach Nishino draws in the first round of Asian qualifying round 6 September 10:41

On the 5th, Director Akira Nishino, the former coach of the Japanese national soccer team who led the Thai national team, drew with Vietnam in preparation for the World Cup Asian 2nd Qualifier, which was his first match after taking office.

Nishino was appointed as Thailand's coach in July, because the ability to lead the Japanese national team to the best 16 for the first time in two tournaments was evaluated at the World Cup Russia last year.

On the 5th, as the first match after taking office, the second round of Asian qualifying against Vietnam in the 2022 World Cup Qatar Tournament will be held, and the stadium near Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, will hold a circle of Hino where the name of Director Nishino is written. It was almost full with nearly 20,000 fans.

Thailand, aiming for the first World Cup with 115th place in the world ranking, pushed forward the game against Vietnam in the 97th place, starting with the J-League Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo Chanathip.

Director Nishino also actively instructed, and in the second half, he aimed for a score using all three substitute players. Thailand had a chance just before the end, and the venue was filled with cheering, but could not score, and Nishino's first match ended with a 0-0 draw.

After the match, Director Nishino said, “It was a game at home and I wanted to win and it was regrettable. The next match will be fixed and I will get points even with some risk.”

Thailand is a separate group from Japan in the second Asian qualifying round, and will face Indonesia in the second round of this month.
