The sprint specialist, who took a World Cup victory (in Ruka 2015), received cardiac arrest during a road trip with his partner on August 12. A passing cyclist started heart and lung rescue before the ambulance arrived and was able to get Fossli's heart started with a heart starter.

- They screamed that I wasn't breathing. Then there was a cyclist who was on his way to work who could save heart and lung which had seen what happened and came to the rescue, says Fossli.

Many tests have been done at the hospital and Fossli has had a pacemaker operated.

- I probably can't bet further, which is obviously very boring. But I am happy that I live and take one day at a time and try to be positive.
